Lay Flat Retrieval System
As a drip irrigation user, you have used lay-flat for your mains and submains, and you know how difficult this hose can be to roll up and store. To make lay-flat easier and safer to retrieve, store and layout, Andros Engineering has developed the Lay-Flat Retrieval System. This system uses several modular components, that can be used together or separately to allow the user to perform all lay out and retrieval operations in safety and comfort. The heart of the system is a hydraulically powered retrieval unit that mounts to any tractor with a CAT II, 3-Pt. hitch and an auxiliary hydraulic system. The retriever winds any size lay-flat onto specially designed Agri-Spools, and then gently places the full reels of lay-flat into a storage module that can be used for transport and/or storage.
This heavy duty, ergonomically designed system can retrieve lay-flat while the tractor moves through the field, or can retrieve from the edge of the field. Retrieval can take place from either side of the unit for maximum adaptability to any field size, shape or layout. When used in conjunction with the modular storage system, a user can retrieve a complete lay-flat irrigation system. The retriever uses hydraulic actuators to manipulate full Agri-Spools weighing up to 500 pounds, and places them into the trailered storage module. Lay-flat hose, along with fittings, adapters and valves are now safely stored in one easy-to-transport module.
- Retriever is capable of 180 degrees of movement, allowing retrieval to be done from both sides of the tractor (bidirectional) and allows the spool to be positioned onto the deck of the module trailer for loading and unloading
- Single unit can be used for both retrieval and layout
- No physical lifting required to load and unload spools
- Can handle varying width spools to accommodate different lay-flat sizes (4”,6”,8”)
- 1 Operator can simultaneously control both the winding speed of the spool and the guide, which orientates the lay-flat onto the spool
- Operator has a good visual location, as well as a safe contained area to work from
- All functions are done hydraulically with easy to reach valves by the operator
- Hydraulic power is supplied by the tractor’s auxiliary hydraulic system.
- Connects to either a Cat II or Cat III 3-pt system
- Module trailer attaches via a pintle hitch mounted directly to the retriever unit’s frame.
